Mr. K. V. Rama Subba Reddy is a FCMA and MBA, with 27 years of progressive experience in capital intensive infrastructure businesses in the corporate sector. In 2017, Mr. Reddy chose to give up his highly coveted job as a Finance Director in a prominent Indian conglomerate, to pursue his life long dream of taking up the role of an entrepreneur and at the same time making a difference to the community. It was time for the philosophy “of improving the quality of life and efficiency of the farming community”
which had to shape up into reality. It was the beginning of a new chapter in naturally grown produce and healthy living.
The idea to shine light on how millets are beneficial for not only the consumers and the producer
but also the environment quickly took root. He also wanted to empower the farmers to get true value of the produce by eliminating the middle men. This led to the natural progression – establishing a processing plant that converts
quality millets procured directly from the farmers into consumer markets across the country.
While we never stop dreaming bigger and better, as of 2020, Sattva Millets and Food Products has become an established brand,
enhancing the quality of living of the farming community, while promoting the benefits of the natural grown crop worldwide.
The majority of the Millets are grown in parts of Kurnool and Kadapa Districts of Andhra Pradesh, previously known as “RENADU”.
Andhra’s Kurnool District is famous for its extensive millet farming, dating back to the 1950s. Nandyal is a bustling town and a major agricultural hub. Its rich, black soil is abundant in nutrients that are important to rearing bountiful crop. The processing unit is strategically established in millet concentration zone and mostly all the raw materials are available within a distance of 100 kms.
The activity began with distribution of quality seeds to the farmers in Jan’2019.The seeds are being sourced with close co-ordination of Regional Agriculture and Research Station, Nandyal, which is ~ 100 years old institution, specialized in Millet development. The seeds are then distributed to the farmers for cropping across ~ 3000 acres.
The agri-partners have extensive knowledge in the field of agriculture. With comprehensive experience spanning 20-25 years, sourcing of the grains is never a constraint within the fraternity. More importantly, the grains are sourced directly from the farmers with utmost care and quality and at very competitive prices due to redundancy of the middle-men who used to manage this process earlier.
The objective of making a business which is socially and economically appealing has eventually taken shape.
